Challenge #18 for Angie's Digital Stamps blog

Challenge #18 for Angie's Digital Stamps blog has commenced and it is with great pleasure that I present my card, which timely, is an Easter card, using Angie's cute little bunny digi. While not content just to use one bunny, I had to flip the image and use two. I also included the scroll for the sentiment. Hope you like it.

I coloured the bunnies using my Copic markers and partially cut out the image to leave the bunnies and ground intact. The sky is using some patterned paper I had tucked away in my stash, that I added some blue Wink of Stella pen to.

Overall I am pleased with how it turned out, though I am very disappointed with my ground and grass. I need to do some more practice to get it looking better.

Head on over to Angie's Digital Stamps and see for yourself the creations and join in the fun.

See you soon.

Still 14 days to go for Challenge #8

There are still 14 days to go in Angie's Digital Stamps Challenge #8, which has an optional twist of Easter. You should check it out and see all of the lovely designs our loyal followers have done for us.

My card used the Chick Hatching Digital Stamp Image from Angie's Etsy site.  Angie has a wide range of digis for a large number of occasions, so if you're ever in need, check out this site.

I wanted to keep my card suitable to give to a child, so the only embellishment used was the cheesecloth layer, keeping it from being too staid and boring. I did do some "cutting outside of the cutting die" which is an interesting technique to add interest. Having the egg shell and grass overhang the foam mounted stitched rectangle allowed the background to show through.

The image was coloured simply with Copics.

Hope you have a wonderful and uplifting Easter. Best wishes to all.

Love,
Janelle 💖

P.S. Here is my card for the last Challenge. I wasn't well enough to do the post for it, but wanted you to see it anyway. The optional twist was "lots of green".

I used a cutting file "Leaf Frame Card" by Bird and placed Angie's Bird Singing Digital Stamp Image behind it. The sentiment strip was lettered using some rub-on letters (Oh how I hate those things - I always get bits stuck where they shouldn't be and waste so many letters I have to cobble together new letters because I've run out of what I need. But It's better to use them up than let them deteriorate to nothing.)

Get Creative Challenge # 36

It's time for another challenge for Get Creative Challenges. The theme this time is Easter and we used cute digistamps from Angie's Cards and Digis (owned by our lovely leader, Angie).
https://www.etsy.com/shop/AngiesCardsandDigis/neu/

I wanted to do something a little different (for me) and stick to a more simple style, so I concentrated my card around a fussy cut image and then added a few further embellishments to enhance the theme. A stamp set called "Eggscellent Stamp" from Bo Bunny helped me achieve this. The eggs, grass and sentiment were from this set, and went so well with Angie's bear digistamp. I coloured using my Copic markers and added some highlights with a gold Wink of Stella pen.

The background paper is from the American Craft Heidi Swapp Minc Signature Paper Pad and foiled using rose gold and my new mini Minc machine.  (big grin here and happy dance) It is so much fun to use.

Looking back, I need a gold "Happy" die cut to add above the "Easter". I'll have to check out what I've got.

Check out the challenge, play along with us and have fun at Get Creative Challenges.

Anyway, bye for now.

Love.
Janelle

Whatever happened to March?

I cannot believe that it's been so long since my last post. Life has been busy and I've been not too well with my CFS. I've got to see a neurologist next month as I've got numb skin  on my feet and lower legs, while inside (my muscles etc) it's super sensitive and "burns" and aches. Not fun and totally bewildering. I'm hoping it's just a progression of the CFS (at least it's the devil you know) and not something horribly new.

Since my last post I've been playing around with new toys, like the Martha Stewart air clay moulding set and the ModPodge heat resin set. I've made a card that also incorporates quilling that I used on a set of cards I made for a commission for Papercraft Essentials.

On this card you can see a moulded heart that I made with the Martha Stewart set - super easy and very effective. Perhaps with the ribbon and flowers you can't really tell it's a heart - but it is. I'd forgotten how pretty quilling can be and while researching for the commission, discovered a whole new branch of it called husking, where you wind the quilling paper around a wide toothed comb, which I'll demonstrate some time.

I'm including this card with the Scrapbook Boutique April Challenge, which is to use the following photo as inspiration for a project. I think it works with it.

My son's on school holidays at the moment, but before the school break he wanted some Easter treats to share with his mates. So, using my trusty We R Memory Keepers pillow box maker, I made some boxes that I decorated with stickers and filled with mini eggs.

(The photo was taken on the boot of my car in the garage just before we took them to school so it's not the best background - not festive enough.) The oval tag I did on my computer and just hand cut. From all accounts the boxes were favourably received by his friends. I was surprised how quickly I was able to create them and how little fuss was needed. It's a great tool to have.

Anyway, that's enough for now.

Bye.

Happy Easter everyone!

This is just a quick post so I can add this card to the Scrapbook Boutique blog Challenge for the month of March. Starting with the inspiration of these delicious looking cupcakes, I developed the card below.

I think I'll give this card to my in-laws when we go visit them on Sunday.

The easter letters were stamped and embossed in pink and then I sponged over some more pink before fussy cutting them. I hand drew the grass and then cut it out with a craft knife; and the little chick (not cute but iconic) was stamped from an Alley Way Priceless Joy set.

I like how the letters appear to be sitting in the grass, and I love the daisy lace.

Anyway, the only big thing on this weekend is that my darling husband is going to take me to Ikea to buy a wall unit for my craft room. Hopefully then I'll be able to have more of my stuff sorted and stored properly and everything more user-friendly. At the moment I've got a mish-mash of shelves that waste a lot of room and that aren't wide enough for the papers etc to sit in properly. I'm too embarrassed to take before photos, but once it's done - maybe an after photo. Who knows?

I hope everyone has a great Easter break and that the weather doesn't stop you from doing what you plan.

Bye for now,
Janelle
