Angie's Digital Stamps Challenge #17

Angie's Digital Stamps Challenge #17 has the optional theme of "Love". I've been doing some shaped cards lately for a commission and thought the Cupcake with Love digistamp would make a great shaped card.

 

I printed the image onto some pink cardstock which meant that I didn't have to try to copy all of the markings by hand. A little bit of shading (using my Spectrum Noir colouring pencils) and some Diamond Glaze on the hearts; a pink foiled heart; and a speckled silver foil base almost finished the card. To complete it, I die cut the sentiment from some pink cardstock using a die set from HOTP, attached it to the card and applied Diamond Glaze on it as well. All up, the finished dimensions were 11.5 x 14cm.

Simply Create Too Challenge # 105

Hi again. I'm back today for a challenge from Simply Create Too.

Something funny was the name of the game, so I created this card using an Art Impressions stamp called "Golden Oldies". (I hope you find the humour in it...?)

I coloured it using my Spectrum Noir colored pencils, some blending solution and a blending stump. Because I didn't have a sentiment stamp to match, I had to hand write the sentiment using a fineline black marker. Not the neatest, I'm afraid. I tried printing it on my printer but the cardstock was too thick and wouldn't feed through. Maybe I could have printed it out on paper and then, having matted it with ... say...light blue, then attached it back onto the card. What do you think?

I also used some Glossy Accents on the bubbles and her emeralds. The bubble foam was painted over with some Twinkling H2O's (Pearl Blue). The card IRL has much more colour in it than shows up in these photos. The cardstock used for the background is also white. Don't know but I'm having trouble with my camera/computer.

Happy New Year (and another video tutorial)

Happy New Year to All! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and a slightly sober New Year's Eve. :)

I was fortunate enough to have my stepdaughter up for a week over the Christmas break. It was lovely to spend time with her and to have her share in some family activities with Darryl and Alex (as well as all of the rellies over Christmas and Boxing Day). One day we drove up to Maleny (in the hinterland mountain range of the Sunshine Coast) and we had a wonderful lunch at a little vineyard called Flame Hill Vineyard. We had this amazing Charcuterie platter that had various sliced cold meats, pickled vegetables, chicken liver pate, meat terrine and an assortment of relishes/pickles etc and breads. YUM! I was also introduced to two wines Summersalt and Wild Child - DOUBLE YUM!

I'm happy to report that I have finally finished my second video tutorial. This is about a technique called Black Magic which uses white inked stamped images that are then coloured with coloured pencils. If you want to find out more you will have to go to YouTube to see more. Once again, though, I must apologise for being long winded, the tutorial covers two videos - one showing the stamping process (though I also go through stamping and masking techniques) and the other going through the colouring technique and construction of the card. I'm going to have to work through making things more simple. I think it stems back to my time as a teacher when I worked in 30 minute blocks of tuition.

I learned this technique for a commission I've just finished for Practical Publishing. It gives a lovely result with the colours against the black cardstock.
